Real Madrid seem destined to win La Liga as they are in the front seat and should all go to plan, the title will be handed to Carlo Ancelotti at the start of May. In truth, Barcelona have not put up a great fight throughout the season due to factors out of their control.

With Xavi continuing his tenure as the Barcelona boss, he will plead with the board to spend as much as possible on transfers this summer. However, Barcelona's poor financial situation is widely documented, so they may have to operate on a strict budget this summer, to avoid catching the interest of FFP regulators.

Real Madrid consider €50m release clause for Barcelona transfer target

One player who is certainly of interest to La Liga is Bernardo Silva. The Portugal international is linked with a move away from Premier League and Champions League champions Manchester City this summer as he would like a new challenge. Previously, Silva had stated that he would prefer to join Barcelona than Real Madrid.

However, Real Madrid will not take no for an answer as they consider their financial edge over El Clasico rivals Barcelona a real advantage. According to a report from Fichajes, Real Madrid have identified Bernardo Silva as a new inductee to their priority summer transfer wishlist.

Currently, Bernardo Silva has a release clause which could see him leave Man City for €50m. However, it is common practice for clubs to enter negotiations with the club to bring that value down first. This would almost certainly be Barcelona's preferred route, who are forced into a much more frugal approach this summer.

Bernardo Silva is one of the best players in the world and this is demonstrated by him starting 74% of the Premier League matches played by Manchester City (Transfermarkt). Under Pep Guardiola, he has honed his craft well and became one of the greatest playmakers available on the market.

Given that he is looking for his next challenge and showing all the signs of making a name for himself in La Liga, Real Madrid should absolutely consider paying the €50m release clause to secure Bernardo Silva.
