Real Madrid in contact to sign Chelsea and Manchester City target
Real Madrid have been heavily linked with centre-backs in recent times and understandably so. The club are without David Alaba and Eder Militao for the foreseeable future, with both having suffered ACL injuries. But there are other positions defensively where they need to improve as well. A new left-back has to be near the top of the club's wishlist as well.
Fran Garcia was signed from Rayo Vallecano but has not been able to convince that he is the long-term answer at left-back. On the other hand, Ferland Mendy is expected to leave in the summer, having struggled to remain fit for any consistent length of time over the past few seasons.
Alphonso Davies is another player Real Madrid have been linked with quite a bit over the past few months. The likes of Chelsea and Manchester City are rumoured to hold an interest in the Bayern Munich left-back as well, with his current deal running out in the summer of 2025.
As tweeted by Florian Plettenberg, Real Madrid definitely want Davies. He is the left-back target next summer. The club's bosses are in regular contact with his agent. On the other hand, negotiations with Bayern Munich about a new contract beyond 2025 continue to stall.

Davies would tick almost every box that Real Madrid look at when signing a new player. He is 23 years of age and has long-term potential.
But at the same time, he is someone with a ton of experience at the top level, having won everything possible with Bayern Munich. If a club is looking for a long-term left-back, there might not be a better option around than Davies.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for him. His current deal with Bayern Munich runs out in the summer of 2025 and if an extension is not agreed soon, the club could decide to part ways rather than risk seeing him walk out as a free agent.
