Real Madrid have some tough transfer decisions to make before the end of the 2024 summer transfer window. With Kylian Mbappe and Endrick added to the already star-studded roster, and more transfers expected before the end of the window, Carlo Ancelotti would not run the risk of hosting an inflated squad next season.

Therefore, transfer departures are also expected, to make room in the squad for new arrivals. One of those players who was linked with a move away from the club was the fringe defender Jesus Vallejo.

According to a report from The Athletic, though, Jesus Vallejo does not want to leave Real Madrid, despite entering the final year of his contract. Instead, he will remain a Real Madrid player and hopefully fight for his place in the team. It's not believed that Ancelotti will force him out, either.

This means that by the time Vallejo leaves Real Madrid, he will have reached the decade mark in the royal white jersey. He was signed from Zaragoza in 2015 and since then, he's only made 18 Liga appearances for Real Madrid, scoring one goal.

The long-term Real Madrid player has been sent on five different loan spells since he was signed from Real Madrid, including the deal to send him back on loan to Zaragoza after he originally signed.

Jesus Vallejo does have an opportunity to make the starting lineup next season but he must make better use of his chances than he has become accustomed to over the last nine years. Depending on if Real Madrid push through for the Leny Yoro deal, there is an opening at centre back.

That said, Jesus Vallejo is aware that the club cannot promise him game time in the final year of his contract. It's said that he's more than happy to be around the squad and the dressing room for at least one more year.

Do you think Real Madrid should keep or sell Jesus Vallejo?
