Real Madrid hero hints at coming out of retirement
Real Madrid are a team in transition at the moment. They legendary players of the previous decade have steadily left over the past few seasons while youngsters have been signed to replace them. The fact that Los Blancos have remained a winning side through all this goes on to show that they are on the right path.
Some veterans are still at the club though. Toni Kroos is one of them. There was a lot of talk about the German midfield maestro potentially retiring at the end of last season but he ended up signing a one-year extension.
He has remained a key part of this team, especially with players like Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga out injured. And it looks like the chances of him making an international return cannot be ruled out either.
Kroos retired from the German national team in 2021. But right now, he seems to be reconsidering that decision, with Antonio Rudiger playing a part in that.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Kroos told DAZN:
"Antonio actually asked. I had to think for a long time, he caught me on the wrong foot because I didn't have that thought, it just came through him."
While Kroos has not made his intentions clear, he further went on to add about the matter:
"That made me think and give him an answer, that I cannot give today."
Thus, Kroos is holding his cards close to his chest. But just the fact that he is openly talking about the matter will raise the hopes of German fans about him returning.
EURO 2024 is set to be hosted in Germany next summer. The German national team have been in terrible form for a long time though. They have been knocked out of the World Cup group stages in the previous two editions and did not make much of an impact at EURO 2020 either.
And things seem to be going from bad to worse for them. Thus, they could certainly do with a player of Kroos' quality and experience right now.
