If there is one thing that has become clear this season, it is that Real Madrid need to make reinforcements in upcoming transfer windows. The club did not have much squad depth in the first place and Carlo Ancelotti's job has been made harder by the long list of injury problems they are dealing with right now.

One area where Real Madrid need to strengthen is right-back. There have been question marks surrounding Dani Carvajal for a while. And the club do not have any genuine backup in his place either.

Carvajal has recently picked up an injury which is expected to keep him out for a month. Lucas Vazquez, who is a converted right-back, is expected to fill in for him. The situation is not ideal to say the least.

Real Madrid have been linked with Reece James of Chelsea and Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool in recent times. But it looks like another Premier League right-back is in their sights as well.

Real Madrid interested in €35 million Tottenham Hotspur player

As reported by Inter Live, Real Madrid are looking for a right-back and may have already chosen Emerson Royal as their target. Tottenham Hotspur are believed to value him at a transfer fee around €35 million.

There have been suggestions that Real Madrid might not be willing to go higher than a transfer fee of around €20 million. Of course, that might make it difficult to get a deal done for Emerson.

Interestingly, Emerson was a Barcelona player before joining Tottenham Hotspur. Could he find himself at Real Madrid in the near future? Time shall tell.

All things said, it is quite clear that Real Madrid need to sign another right-back soon. Whether that turns out to be the Brazilian international, James, Trent or someone else, we shall see.
