Cristiano Ronaldo recently hinted what he had planned for when he retired from playing. Despite fans never wanting his playing days to end, it is the harsh reality that both Ronaldo and his fans must accept this will occur eventually.

The Portugal international surprised many by claiming that when he retires, he sees his career outside of football. This means that he has no plans to coach or even enter punditry.

In his own words, Ronaldo said: "[Becoming a coach] doesn't even cross my mind, I've never thought about it. I don't see my future going through that. I see myself doing other things outside of football, but only God knows what the future holds."

In 24 hours, Cristiano Ronaldo's new YouTube channel was subscribed to 19,729,827 times. An incredible record which will take some doing to beat.

It is up for debate who the best player of all-time is, but Cristiano Ronaldo is always involved in the conversation. Certainly from a Real Madrid perspective, he has impressive credentials.

However, what cannot be debated is Cristiano Ronaldo's popularity. Love him or hate him, Cristiano Ronaldo is the most followed person in the world, let alone the most followed athlete.

In 2022, Cristiano Ronaldo was the first person to ever exceed 500 million followers on Instagram. This follower count now exceeds 600 million, showing his undeniable fame.
