Real Madrid have made two excellent additions to their squad this summer, with Kylian Mbappe and Endrick arriving in the Spanish capital. The Frenchman has joined as a free agent, bringing an end to a long-running transfer saga, after his contract with PSG ran out. On the other hand, a deal for the Brazilian international had been agreed with Palmeiras in late 2022.
There are other areas in need of reinforcements as well. But it is uncertain whether any more signings will be made this summer or not.
Midfield is one area where Real Madrid could do with an addition. Toni Kroos retired at the end of last season, bringing a close to a glorious career. Luka Modric is also pretty much in the twilight of his time on the pitch and will turn 39 next month.
It is understandable if Real Madrid do not want to splash out on a player who won't necessarily be a starter. But there are some solid free agents available as well. One of them is Adrien Rabiot but it looks like Los Blancos have already made a decision regarding the French international.
Real Madrid rule out move for Manchester United transfer target
As reported by AS, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid sounded out the possibility of signing Rabiot, but have ultimately ruled out going for him. Manchester United and Liverpool are holding informal talks to find out about his availability.
Someone like Rabiot could have been a solid addition to this Real Madrid team. And perhaps most importantly, he is available as a free agent.
Real Madrid have made similar signings in recent times, bringing in Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba as free agents. But this time around, it looks like they have decided against going after a high-profile free agent, having already signed Mbappe.
