They have also drawn Manchester City in the Champions League quarterfinal, with Carlo Ancelotti having high aspirations to achieve success between now and the end of the season.

The Italian boss is somebody who focuses on the tiniest details but this is part of his brilliance. Real Madrid has always been a well-oiled machine but Carlo Ancelotti being at the helm only emphasises this since he is one of the most experienced in the business.

Part of the reason why Real Madrid have been in good form of late, remaining unbeaten in their last five La Liga matches, and that is the fine work of Andiry Lunin between the sticks. The backup goalkeeper is certainly making a claim for the first-team as he has impressed in the absence of Thibaut Courtois.

According to a new report by Sergio Gomez of Relevo, Real Madrid are going to offer a contract extension to Andriy Lunin, rewarding the goalkeeper for his fine work between the sticks this calendar year.

This goes to show how well Lunin has impressed recently. It is a stark contrast to the beginning of the season, where Ancelotti considered selling the backup goalkeeper. He has been so important and in the opinion of most Real Madrid fans, is fully deserving of this contract extension.

I guess it will come down to how much game-time Lunin is promised when Courtois returns from his injury. After all, he is far too good to be a bench-warmer. Clearly, Don Carlo has great plans for Lunin if he is considered for a contract extension.
