Real Madrid's injury problems seem to have no end in sight. Whenever someone returns to fitness, somebody else ends up on the sidelines. We saw that happen in the recent game against Mallorca, which Los Blancos managed to win through a late goal from Antonio Rudiger, even though they did not put in a good performance.

Dani Carvajal made his return to the team on the day after some time out with a short-term injury. But on the other hand, Lucas Vazquez is now set for a spell out on the sidelines.

Vazquez filled in for Carvajal, while he was injured, and even scored a vital winner for Real Madrid against Alaves. Unfortunately, it looks like he won't be available for a bit.

As reported by Real Madrid's official website, Vazquez has suffered an injury to the semitendinosus muscle in his right thigh. And as tweeted by El Chiringuito, he is out for three weeks.

Vazquez appears to have picked up his injury in training. While not a regular starter, the Spaniard was getting consistent appearances as a substitute. So, that is one less player in Carlo Ancelotti's rotation.

Vazquez's injury should not have a major impact on Real Madrid's plans unless Carvajal picks up another issue or a suspension. In that case, Ancelotti will certainly have a lot to think about when it comes to constructing his backline.

One great thing about this Real Madrid team is that they seem to take everything in their stride and do not let it have a negative impact on their performances. Hopefully, that will remain the case for the rest of the season, as they have put themselves in a good spot to challenge for both La Liga and the Champions League.
