Real Madrid are in the process of building quite the squad for the future. The club have been busy signing some of the top youngsters from all around the world for years now, and we are already seeing the results. They are well on course to win La Liga this season while the Champions League is also well within reach.
In recent years, with players like Eduardo Camavinga, Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler being brought in and Endrick yet to arrive, Real Madrid are no doubt in safe hands for many years to come. However, there are still a few areas on the pitch that have question marks over them.
The backline needs some readjustments for sure. Eder Militao is no doubt a cornerstone piece of Real Madrid's future, however, who will play alongside him in defence for the next decade or so to come? The likes of Antonio Rudiger, Dani Carvajal and David Alaba are already in their 30s, and Ferland Mendy will turn 29 in June.
Many fans have drawn up dream signings for the defence, and according to recent rumours, one very popular name could be making his way to Real Madrid this summer. Although, it could see a Champions League winner heading in the opposite direction.
Real Madrid player could leave in swap deal for Alphonso Davies
As reported by L'Equipe (via Football Espana), a possible swap deal involving Davies and Mendy could be orchestrated, with Bayern Munich keen to sign the Frenchman this summer. They are said to be open to the arrangement but will face competition for his signature.
Davies has been long linked with a dream move to Real Madrid. Many fans think the Canadian international would be one of the final pieces to the new Galacticos team that the club are nearly done assembling.
Real Madrid have a number of routes they could go down when it comes to signing Davies. They could shell out a transfer fee this summer, wait one more year till his contract at Bayern Munich expires or they could go down this route of a rumoured swap deal involving Mendy.
