Much like many seasons in recent times, Real Madrid have struggled with injury problems in the 23/24 campaign. Key players like Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao and David Alaba suffered torn ACLs although the first two have been able to return to action since then. Of course, Los Blancos have had to deal with a number of short and medium-term issues as well.
Jude Bellingham, for example, is still believed to be dealing with fitness issues. It is rumoured that he is playing despite not being fully fit so that he can still help the team during this key stretch of games.
With the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund just weeks away and the La Liga title already secured, Real Madrid must do everything they can to protect their key players. The team must avoid any further injuries before the most important game of the season.
However, one player recently suffered an injury. And it has left his status unknown for the Champions League final at Wembley.
Real Madrid player could miss Champions League final
As reported by ESPN, Aurelien Tchouameni will be out for about three weeks with a stress injury to his left foot. But there is still optimism that he will recover in time for the Champions League final.
Tchouameni has been one of the most important players for Real Madrid throughout the season. The club have not lost a single match in this campaign, in which the Frenchman has been in the starting XI. Naturally, they will want that streak to continue and for him to start in the final.
Tchouameni dealt with a similar injury earlier in the season as well. It remains to be seen if this issue is serious enough to keep him out of the biggest game of the season. The fact that there is optimism about his recovery is great news.
