Real Madrid had to deal with injury problems once again during the 2023/24 season, A number of key players were sidelined with long-term and medium-term injuries meaning the team had to rely on some who probably would not have been starters under ideal circumstances. And yet, that did not have a negative impact on the results.

The squad had to cope with long-term injuries to both starting centre-backs, Eder Militao and David Alaba. As a result, players like Aurelien Tchouameni and club captain Nacho were called on by Carlo Ancelotti to step up during the season.

However, the player that Ancelotti relied on the most to step up in the wake of the injuries to Militao and Alaba was Antonio Rudiger. The German became the main man in defence, stepping in and playing like one of the best in the world.

After such a fantastic season it is natural for Rudiger to be drawing potential transfer attention. But fortunately, it looks like he does not intend to say goodbye to Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid player wants to stay despite Al-Nassr rumours

As tweeted by Florian Plettenberg, rumours about Al-Nassr and Rudiger are wide of the mark. The German international has no intention of leaving Real Madrid and definitely wants to stay.

Rudiger was one of Real Madrid's most important players this past season. After what had been an average debut campaign for Los Blancos last time around, he proved a lot of people wrong and proved why he had been signed by the club in the first place.

Right now, Rudiger is a nailed-on starter in the Real Madrid defence heading into the 2024/25 season. He seems to be having a fine EURO 24 campaign as he looks to guide Germany to triumph on home soil. They have won their first two games.
