Real Madrid have made some incredible transfers over the years. However, it is impossible for any club to have a 100% hit-rate. What's important is that, when required, the club swallows its pride and decides to sell a player when it isn't working.

Well, one Real Madrid player has gone completely under the radar. Considering he was signed for around €30m in 2020 and hasn't made a single league appearance for the first team since, it really can be considered a transfer "flop", by every definition of the word.

In case you hadn't guessed, I'm referring to Reinier Jesus.

Real Madrid prepared to sell €30m transfer flop after four years

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Reinier Jesus has become a "real problem" for Real Madrid. As such, Real Madrid are prepared to part ways with Reinier this summer, whether it be through the loan route or the transfer route.

Reinier has until 2026 remaining on his Real Madrid contract. Therefore, it would be sensible for Real Madrid to sell him permanently this summer, to get the most out of his transfer fee. However, the problem which Real Madrid face is that they will struggle to sell the Brazilian, who has not proven himself on the big stage.

Even his loan move to Borussia Dortmund as a youngster was not a complete success. He failed to make a name for himself there and was not a regular member of the starting lineup. He was okay at Girona next and then he did improve whilst on loan at Frosinone.

With Arda Guler breaking through at Real Madrid and Endrick eager to make a name for himself, there truly is little room for Reinier Jesus to push for his first league start. In fact, this probably isn't even a consideration for Carlo Ancelotti, who has built a team without Reinier in mind.

Real Madrid may be forced into cutting their losses. There is not a chance they will make back the €30m they initially invested in signing Reinier Jesus. As mentioned, though, no club has a 100% hit-rate.

What would you rate Real Madrid signing Reinier Jesus out of ten?
