Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest to ever play for Real Madrid and it would be difficult for anybody to even close to the numbers he put up during his nine years in the Spanish capital. It has been more than half-a-decade since the Portuguese icon left the club though and his career has been on somewhat of a downward trajectory since then.

His stint at Juventus was decent but the Turin side could not win the Champions League, which many believed was the main reason behind signing Ronaldo. A dream return to Manchester United turned into a nightmare as well and that run ended under less than ideal circumstances and perhaps had a negative effect on his Old Trafford legacy.

Now, Ronaldo finds himself at Al-Nassr. While the Portuguese superstar has managed to score goals for fun, even at 39 years of age, the club have not been successful in winning the league.

Now, another Real Madrid legend is set to join Ronaldo there but in an off-the-pitch role. As reported by The Athletic, Al Nassr are set to appoint Fernando Hierro as their new sporting director.

Hierro spent more than a decade playing for Real Madrid. During that period of time, he won five league titles, three Champions Leagues and numerous other trophies.

Hierro has been the sporting director of C.D. Guadalajara in Mexico since 2022. But now, it looks like it is time for a change in scenery for the Real Madrid legend.

Hierro has a ton of experience in this role. In the past, he has also had sporting director roles for the Spanish national team and Malaga. Let's see if he is successful in getting Al-Nassr over the final hurdle and turning them into league champions.
