For Real Madrid, it is pretty much guaranteed that they will receive interest from other clubs in their players. As the summer transfer window is in full swing, this is a common theme already for fans of Los Blancos. The good thing about this is that it gives fans an opportunity to see how Carlo Ancelotti and Florentino Perez value the squad, since they are very transparent about their willingness to sell.
For Tottenham Hotspur, they have unfortunately caught Florentino Perez in one of those moods where he will not sell, and nothing will convince him to sell...
Real Madrid reject Tottenham transfer interest in 24-year-old star
According to a report from Foot Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur have approached Real Madrid over the possibility of signing Brahim Diaz in the summer transfer window. Brahim is one player who Ange Postecoglou admires, and can envision moving from the Spanish capital to the English capital. However, the former Celtic boss can swiftly move on.
The report states that Real Madrid were quick to reaffirm that Brahim Diaz is not for sale at any price, essentially rendering him as an untouchable this summer. Indeed, Carlo Ancelotti has big plans for Brahim Diaz ahead of the 2024/25 season, as his squad role is thought to be upgraded, meaning he will be in and around the first team a lot more often than he is accustomed to.
Last season, Brahim Diaz made 18 starts in La Liga, which is pretty impressive. He was mostly a super-sub but as demonstrated, he proved his worth to Ancelotti enough to make him a starter in some matches. That said, he will envision more consistent starts next season, even despite the new star-studded arrivals.
As a player who is versatile enough to play anywhere in the midfield and front-line, Brahim will be there to step up to the mark in case of injuries, suspensions or general squad rotation. Hence, he is important enough to Real Madrid for Carlo Ancelotti to reject Tottenham's advances.
Do you think Real Madrid are right to not sell Brahim Diaz?
