Real Madrid have one of the best squads in the world and they consistently compete at the highest level. This season, they are dominating Spain and have the potential to relcaim their prized European accolade. However, as a proud man, Carlo Ancelotti knows there are always ways he can improve the squad and this is what he plans to do in the summer.
Currently, the port of action seems to be improving the defence. With Endrick confirmed to sign and Kylian Mbappe expected to follow, their attack is sorted for some time now. Next on the agenda for the Italian boss, is to solidify the defence for the distant future.
Real Madrid want to sign young Manchester United-linked defender
According to a report from The Athletic, Real Madrid have emerged as "strong suitors" to sign Leny Yoro from Lille. The 18-year-old has developed into one of the best defenders in France and being so young, it's no surprise that he is on the radar of European elites such as Real Madrid, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.
Out of those four clubs, there's no denying that Real Madrid is the most attractive destination for a young French player, hence the strong position which Los Blancos hold in the race.
It works in Real Madrid's favour that Leny Yoro runs out of contract in the summer of 2025. This means that when the summer transfer window opens, Lille have little time to negotiate. If they cannot tie down their star player to a new contract, they may feel forced to sell, to avoid losing a prized asset for free.
This season, Yoro has made 26 Ligue 1 appearances, starting most of them. He has scored two goals and is a key factor to Lille being fourth in the table, boasting one of the most impressive defensive records.
