Real Madrid want to bring back former player from Serie A

Real Madrid need to bring in another centre-back as soon as possible. They are without Eder Militao and David Alaba, with both suffering ACL injuries. Castilla's Marvel is out injured as wll. That means that the only two options available to Carlo Ancelotti in that position are Antonio Rudiger and Nacho, with Aurelien Tchouameni as a potential cover option.

That is nearly not enough. Especially if Real Madrid end up challenging for the Champions League and La Liga, and have high-pressure games to deal with in the second half of the season.

Thus, most fans would want the club to sign another centre-back next month. Of course, things have not always gone that way at Real Madrid, and rarely have they made signings in the middle of the season in recent times. Let's see if that strategy changes this time around.

As tweeted by SER Deportivos, Mario Gila of Lazio interests Real Madrid. They are looking for the loan of a defender, and if possible with a purchase option.

Gila came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid and even made a few appearances for the senior team. But he was not able to establish himself in first-team plans and left for Lazio in the summer of 2022.

The links with Gila are interesting though because he has not played much football for Lazio either. So it is hard to imagine that he would come in challenge for a starting spot at Real Madrid. So, it seems that the club are only looking for a cover option in the heart of defence at the moment.
