Real Madrid worried about starter after several mistakes
Real Madrid are a team in form. Carlo Ancelotti's side have lost just one game this season so far. We are well into December. That is quite the feat for a team that has been struggling with injuries to key players and did not have much squad depth to begin with. Now, the focus has to be on avoiding a repeat of the previous campaign and not letting the results slip.
The lack of depth means that Ancelotti has to sometimes select players even if they seem to be out of form. David Alaba is someone who is not having the greatest of campaigns.
Real Madrid have certainly improved defensively this season. A lot of that might be down to the change in system and the extra player in midfield. At the same time, the likes of Antonio Rudiger and Dani Carvajal have stepped up.
The same cannot be said about Alaba. The Austrian is one of the most experienced players in this Real Madrid, but he has made far too many mistakes in recent times.

With Eder Militao out injured for the foreseeable future, it is hard to leave the Austrian out of the starting XI. As reported by AS, Alaba's struggles worry Real Madrid more and more.
The only game Real Madrid have lost this season so far was against Atletico Madrid. Alaba was at the centre of that, as he made a couple of errors at the back, which allowed Diego Simeone's side to score.
Alaba also did not have a great performance against FC Barcelona and appeared to give too much space to Aitor Ruibal in the 1-1 draw with Real Betis. That is quite a few mistakes for a player of the Austrian's quality and experience.
