Real Madrid have had to deal with difficult circumstances all season but that has not stopped them from putting up results on a consistent basis, which goes on to show the strength of this squad, not just in terms of quality but their attitude as well. If they can finish the campaign strong then a La Liga and Champions League double is very much a possibility for Carlo Ancelotti's side.

One of the biggest problems Real Madrid were handed this season was before the campaign had even begun. Thibaut Courtois, arguably the best goalkeeper in the world, suffered a torn ACL and was put on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.

As a result, Real Madrid were left scrambling to find a solution. The club had Andriy Lunin but most supporters did not view him as someone capable of being the first-choice goalkeeper for Los Blancos.

Ultimately, Real Madrid went for a short-term solution. Kepa Arrizabalaga was brought in on loan for the season from Chelsea. The Spaniard made a strong start for Los Blancos. But a short-term injury suffered by him allowed Lunin a run in the starting XI and since then, the 24-year-old appears to have moved ahead of the Spaniard in the goalkeeper pecking order.

As reported by The Athletic, Ancelotti has not fully explained which of the two is his preferred choice. Kepa is not happy with his circumstances and would have appreciated more clarity on the situation from the manager.

Not too long ago, Real Madrid signing Kepa permanently was seen as a genuine possibility. Many fans even encouraged it after his early season displays.

But with the rise of Lunin since then, it feels like Kepa will be returning to Chelsea once his loan spell comes to an end. He still has a year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
