Predicted Real Madrid lineup for La Liga clash vs Real Oviedo

Real Madrid are set to take on newly promoted Real Oviedo tonight, and there is plenty to look forward to in this clash.

Oviedo are an energetic side who fought hard for promotion from the Segunda Division. Despite conceding a red card and two goals in their opener against Villarreal, their 4-2-3-1 setup showed both promise and potential to cause upsets against the big three later this season.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, are still searching for a convincing statement under their new explosive manager. Their narrow win over Osasuna last week required a penalty to avoid a draw, and tonight’s game could be the chance to deliver that statement.

Here's the predicted Real Madrid XI vs Real Oviedo:

GK – Thibaut Courtois

The easiest pick week in and week out. Courtois had almost nothing to do against Osasuna, making zero saves because he never had to. With Oviedo likely to sit in a low block, it could be another quiet night for him.

LB – Alvaro Carreras

One of the most involved players in the previous match. The left flank under his command looked fresher than it had in a long time, and there is no chance anyone starts ahead of him tonight.

CB – Eder Militao

Militao was solid against Osasuna and now needs regular minutes to get back to his best. Games against lower-level sides are perfect for that. His pairing with Dean Huijsen is already earning praise, balancing Militao’s defensive organization with Huijsen’s forward-minded drive.

CB – Dean Huijsen

An automatic starter already. There is no argument needed - if he is fit, he plays.

RB – Dani Carvajal

Trent Alexander Arnold struggled to impress against Osasuna, so this could be the chance for Carvajal to start his first game since recovering from injury. Expect regular rotation between the two, but the position is in safe hands.

CM – Fede Valverde

Set to captain Real Madrid again, Valverde will make his 325th appearance tonight. From academy graduate to captain, it is a remarkable journey. Another automatic pick.

DM – Aurelien Tchouameni

The anchor in midfield. His role may not always be highlighted in goals or assists, but his presence is crucial as the balance and the first defensive barrier before the back line.

CM – Arda Guler

He should not be on the bench. Guler always makes an impact when given minutes, and Xabi Alonso has every reason to trust him with a starting role.

LW – Vinicius Jr

This feels like a Vinicius masterclass waiting to happen. A brace or something close to it may well be on the cards.

ST – Kylian Mbappe

The match-winner and standout against Osasuna. Mbappe was unplayable in the second half; the challenge tonight is to bring that same level from the very first minute.

RW – Franco Mastantuono

Reports suggest the Argentine will be handed his first start. A big opportunity for the 20-year-old, who has already shown flashes of promise.
