Real Madrid are pushing hard out of nowhere to sign RB Leipzig star left and right winger Yan Diomande, who was arguably the best young winger in European football last season as he shredded up the very best teams in the Bundesliga, proving unguardable for even the top defenderes in the division while carrying a very weak Leipzig side to a respectable season.

PSG seemed to be the obvious favorites to sign Diomande, with the player even agreeing to personal terms with the Ligue 1 giants after firece negotiations between the Qatar owned club and his agency, Jay-Z's Roc Nation. Diomande had already rejected LIverpool to pick PSG over the others, but with PSG slow to close the financial deal with RB Leipzig, the door has been opened for a swoop.

Diomande's childhood dream was always Real Madrid - and he grew up idolizing Cristiano Ronaldo. So now that Florentino Perez and, especially, Jose Mourinho want him, they are favorites over PSG, even.

Real Madrid have more Diomande competition

However, they are not the only team looking to slide through the glass door that PSG have left ajar. According to a report from Florian Plettenberg and Philipp Hinze of Sky Sports Germany, Manchester City have "verbally indicated" that they are "ready to bid" 100 million euros for Yan Diomande and formally enter the race for the teenage sensation from the Ivory Coast. Sky Sports say that no official offer has come through yet but that Man City are in talks. They even surprisingly say that PSG have not submitted an offer yet.

Manchester City signed Antoine Semenyo last winter transfer window, but they are expected to sell Savinho to Tottenham Hotspur this summer transfer window. And Diomande would immediately be their best winger and a perfect compement to Erling Haaland; he would also make Omar Marmoush potentially expendable.

Still, it is impossible to envision Manchester City attracting Diomande better than Real Madrid when Madrid have Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe, and Jude Bellingham, as well as Jose Mourinho coaching them. And Madrid have that cachet, especially with Diomande loving the club as a child.

Man City are a formidable opponent on the transfer market, of course, and they have taken top players away from Real Madrid before. Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Josko Gvardiol, Rayan Cherki, and a few others were Real Madrid transfer targets before deciding to go to Man City, so Real can't fully let their guards down.
