It has only been a month since the transfer window closed, and Real Madrid fans are already seeing rumors for potential signings and sales in subsequent windows.
Now, there is a lot of time still to go for the January transfer window to start, but we wanted to throw some predictions into how it can go anyway. These are way too early, way too premature and probably very wrong, but fun!
Even though Real Madrid generally don't do much business in the January window, they will still work behind the scenes for some signings and sales. Let's jump right into it.
Real Madrid will receive (and reject) an offer for Rodrygo
There will be an offer from a top Premier League club for Rodrygo Goes in the summer, but it will be rejected by Real Madrid because the player would not want to leave.
Rodrygo has not been playing as much as he used to last season, but the minutes that he has played have come on the left, and unsurprisingly, he has looked good on that side. In the games he has started and the games where he has come off the bench, Rodrygo has looked great, which would get clubs to try and convince him to join them for a bigger role.
Rodrygo wants to stay at Real Madrid, he was clear about it in a recent interview, and I don't think that will change. A club like Arsenal or Chelsea will come for him, but the player will say no, at least until next season.
Real Madrid will make an offer to Marc Guehi
Real Madrid have shown interest in Marc Guehi as of late - which was a bit surprising, to say the least. However, I do expect that, if Guehi is still a free agent by January, and no other club has signed him up, Real Madrid will try to get him on a team-friendly deal for next summer.
Antonio Rüdiger and David Alaba have not signed any extensions yet, and both of them have been struggling with fitness and form as of late - although one more than the other.
If both of them leave, Real Madrid will try to sign one defender at least for the summer, and Guehi could be that guy. He'd get on well with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jude Bellingham, and it could work out for all parties.
There will be more Dani Ceballos drama
Ah, yes. Every transfer window, Real Madrid fans have to suffer through some Dani Ceballos transfer dramas. None of them work out, but there are countless rumors about him potentially leaving the club only to then stay for a few more months.
The biggest example of that was this summer, where his move to Marseille was practically done, until it wasn't.
Some more of that will be expected this summer. It won't happen, and it won't be as bad as it was with Marseille, but Ceballos is a tidy player, and people would want a player like him to join their club for a bigger role.
However, it is also worth mentioning that Alonso has been using Ceballos a lot this season, so there is practically no chance for him to leave, unless Real Betis come calling and he changes his mind.
Real Madrid will start negotiations with Ibrahima Konaté
Real Madrid will begin negotiations with Ibrahima Konaté over a possible move for the summer. If Konate does not sign a contract extension with Liverpool over the next two months, Konaté is free to negotiate with anyone to move for free.
There are two problems with this, though. One is that Liverpool really want him to stay, and if they offer him a good enough contract, the player will probably end up staying as he loves the club. This is just my opinion, but, it is a difficult move in that sense.
Second is the form. Konaté has not started this season in good form, but Real Madrid tend to look at the track record more than the current form, which is why they will end up sending an offer anyway, if the opportunity arises.
Real Madrid will try to sell Ferland Mendy
Ferland Mendy still somehow plays for Real Madrid. A left-back who was nearly indispensable a few years ago has now become obsolete and surplus to requirements at the biggest club in the world.
He got replaced by Alvaro Carreras, and his injury record is anything but great, which could force Real Madrid to try to sell him in the winter transfer window.
There have been no overly loud rumors about this, so this might be the least likely to come true, but Real Madrid do need to move on from Mendy as soon as possible, even if it is a free transfer that gets his salary off the books.
If that ends up happening, that would be a more impressive sale than anything the club has done in the last couple of years.
