Jude Bellingham has broken his silence over Real Madrid fans' jeers after his side thrashed AS Monaco 6-1 in the Champions League. It was a much-needed win for Los Blancos that helps the team and their fans move on from the negativity surrounding Xabi Alonso's departure.
The English midfielder was one of the main targets of Madridistas' whistles and boos during a 2-0 win against Levante on Saturday. There were less tonight although Vinicius Junior was initially on the receiving end of jeers.
But a sensational performance from pretty much all of Alvaro Arbeloa's men helped lift the mood and ended with the Bernabeu faithful cheering Vinicius' name. He found the back of the net as did Bellingham as Los Blancos ran wild on a perfect European night.

Bellingham was asked after the game about the reaction of fans following Alonso's exit and whether it was difficult to play in such an atmosphere. He responded to TNT Sports:
"The fans pay their money, work all week, save up to come to Real Madrid games to support us. So they are entitled to say what they want. I don't think it's always very helpful for the team or individuals speaking from experience, now I know. It's not the nicest thing in the worl,d but they are entitled to their opinion."
Bellingham came out and refuted claims from the media that he was one of three high-profile Madrid stars who were firmly against Alonso during his seven months in charge. But this didn't stop fans from blaming him, Vinicius and Federico Valverde for the Spaniard's departure on Monday (January 12th).
The 22-year-old added:
"The way we have to react is the way we've reacted in the last two games. The second half the other day and the full 90 minutes today is the kind of performance that the fans want to see and that we need to deliver for ourselves but also the fans if we're going to be successful this season."
Kylian Mbappe was also on target in the win, scoring a brace while Franco Mastantuono also found the back of the net. Thilo Kehrer put into his own net on the night as Madrid eased to victory over the French side.
Bellingham reacts to Vinicius' performance

Vinicius was the star of the show, registering two assists along with his goal. He has endured a difficult season which has caused fraction in his relationship with fans.
Bellingham wasn't surprised to see his Brazilian teammate come to the fore:
"He was really sharp, looked dangerous everytime he had the ball, created loads. But for me its never any doubt when he has performances like that. I think he's a player who thrives when he gets love. You can see today when the atmosphere changed towards him. He becomes so much more joyful to watch and play with."

Vinicius is expected to be a focus of Arbeloa's team moving forward alongside Mbappe. If the Spaniard can get the Brazilian delivering displays like tonight consistently there's no reason Madrid can't end this season with a trophy.
