Real Madrid, in these last few years, were forced to make do with Dani Carvajal as the only player from the club in Spain's National Team squads in big tournaments.
However, even he has not been playing for the club as much since his ACL injury last year, and Real Madrid have had to make do with other players - and the same goes for Spain.
At the club now is Trent Alexander-Arnold, and minutes to him have taken away those that Carvajal used to have, which basically means that Carvajal just is not playing as much as everyone would want.
Carvajal is now leaving the club, and he will probably not play for Spain's NT anymore - not until he at least gets relevant game time.
He was one of the few players that Real Madrid consistently saw get into the national team, and now, without him, it looks a bit bleak. Dean Huijsen has been good, but not good enough to warrant a place in that tournament. Alvaro Carreras has not played much. Dani Ceballos has not played at all, which means Real Madrid are missing a Spanish player in the squad.
Real Madrid actually have a player in Spain's World Cup squad everyone forgot about
However, there is one that no one is talking about. Technically, he is not a Real Madrid player, but he was at the club last season, and could potentially return next season too. Victor Munoz, a Castilla graduate, has made the squad for the World Cup, which is fantastic to see.
Even though he is technically playing for Osasuna at the time of writing this, Real Madrid still own 50% of his rights, so technically he is half a player of Real Madrid, too.
The buy-back clause also means he can come back to the club if they need him on the wings, which could be the case in a few months' time, and it will be interesting to see a player as rapid as him play regularly, should he join.
Munoz has been one of the best young players in the league this season, and not many people are talking about just how good he is at getting past players.
He has things to improve on, but the amount of improvements he has made in the last two years alone is something to commend him for, and he fully deserves his place in the Spanish National Team's World Cup squad.
