Real Madrid have been signing a bunch of players this summer to fill the positions that require some reinforcement.

Despite signing three players in Dean Huijsen, Franco Mastantuono and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Real Madrid are not done. They are attentive to situations in the market to find an opening.

It cannot be ruled out that Real Madrid will sign a striker before the end of the summer transfer window. Also, there is a likely transfer coming their way in the form of Alvaro Carreras as well, they just need to finalise negotiations with Benfica.

However, there is a need in the squad for a Joselu type striker. There have been reports in recent weeks about how new manager Xabi Alonso is keen on getting that profile into the squad.

There are several players that have been mentioned, but no one knows what the club will do in a month's time, when the transfer window reopens.

Real Madrid's alternative to signing a Joselu-type striker is brilliant

Real Madrid want a striker, according to Jorge Picon, but if they are not able to find the specific profile they are looking for, there is a brilliant plan B waiting on the doorstep.

According to Picon, Real Madrid will consider promoting Gonzalo Garcia to the first team should they fail to look for a striker that fits their profile.

Let me clarify for the people reading this piece, no matter what anyone tells you, Garcia is not a Joselu-type striker.

Can he head the ball? Yes. Can he hold up play? Yes. Can he score goals? Yes. But he is still not that profile.

He can do these things well enough, but they are not his specialty. However, for a plan B, this is exceptional.

Firstly, Real Madrid will not have to pay anything to anyone to promote Garcia to the first team. Secondly, he will score goals, and act as an impact sub.

It is also worth noting that he is homegrown. He is one of our own. Getting chances would be huge for him, and would be just what Real Madrid fans have been wanting for years.

And finally, Garcia is actually a really good player. He has scored a lot of goals for Castilla this season, and he already has one for the first team in the Club World Cup. Promoting him would not fix the overarching issue, but it will limit it to an extent, while also acting as a brilliant plan B.
