A number of major changes are taking place at Real Madrid this summer. With the arrival of new manager Jose Mourinho as well as the arrival of new players and the departures of old ones, Real Madrid will look very different when they step on the pitch for matchday one in La Liga in August. However, one of the biggest changes in the recent history of the club could come next summer, and Real Madrid are finally admitting the untinkable may happen with their superstar.

As being reported by theMadridZone on X, Real Madrid now believe Vinicius jr's contract renewal in increasingly unlikely to happen, with there now being serious possibility he will leave the club next summer. Nothing is 100% decided yet with more talks to take place after the World Cup, however the club had belived for months that the Brazilian would renew, however that feeling has now changed.

The Vinicus Jr realization Real Madrid have come to

Vinicius has quickly become one of the most polarizing figures in football but through all the controversy and noise, Real Madrid has stuck by their superstar through thick and thin, however we have seen a slight shift in Vinicius in the last few years both with his attitude and production on the pitch which has led to some internal issues, culminating with his extension talks being on hold.

The Brazilian's contract is up next summer, and there has been on and off talks between the player's representatives and the club over a new deal, but with the club refusing to match the €30 million per year salary demands and Vini's camp refusing to lower that number, no progress has been made, leading the club to ultimately come to the conclusion that they might lose their superstar as a free agent next summer.

For Real Madrid they may find themselves in a lose-lose situation right now. The club can't afford to lose a player like Vinicius as a free agent, who currently carries a market value of around €140 million. And with the Brazilian having a sensational World Cup scoring four goals and grabbing one assist in Brazil's first three games, Real Madrid may have to end up paying the €30 million per year wages as he's showing that he's worth the money he's asking for.

Where exactly Vinicius would end up should he leave Real Madrid remains unknown. Links to Manchester City and PSG have always been around, as well as the obvious links to the Saudi Pro League due to their abundance of money could lure the Brazilian. However Vinicius is Real Madrid through and through and while extension talks may not be going great right now, odds are he'll end up signing a new deal to keep him at the Bernabeu. One thing is for certain though, as the time starts running out and he still doesn't have a new deal, it will be an edgy season for Real Madrid and their future.
