Real Madrid's win over Valencia was very fun to watch, even though there were a few blips here and there. They were able to get the job done at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu after Arda Guler, Kylian Mbappé, and Fede Valverde got on the score sheet to make sure that Real Madrid got their eighth win in a row.
Ever since the international break, this team has looked much, much better than they were looking before it. Players have been profiled much better, and they have also been looking more and more like a team rather than a group of 11 individuals. On the pitch, it is really good to watch, and one of the biggest reasons for that happening is the explosion of Guler.
Guler has been one of Real Madrid's best players, if not the best, this season. It is a toss-up between Jude Bellingham and Guler, and it just seems that the player is performing at an unbelievably high level. It has been like that all season long, but especially in these last seven or eight games, he has looked much better than he did, even when he was playing well earlier in the season.
Arda Guler is unplayable right now
A lot of Real Madrid's attack revolves around Guler now, and as it was proven on Saturday night, the game against Valencia was the Guler show. He got a goal and an assist in the game, and he was easily Real Madrid's most dangerous player on the night. He was able to carve through Valencia's press and Valencia's defence with his passes and open Valencia up like a box of doughnuts so many different times.
The difference between when he plays and when he doesn't play is crystal clear as well. For example, Guler did not play against AEK Athens during the week in the Champions League, and Real Madrid clearly struggled to have any sort of creativity in the attack without him.
They looked very, very lethargic going forward at times. Even though they were able to score three goals and get the job done without Guder on the pitch, it looked bleak at points. They need his creativity a lot going forward.
Many times, they are looking for some inspiration through their passing. Even though Bellingham tries his best, if there is one thing Guder is better at than Bellingham, it is his ability to pass the ball exquisitely, which is why Real Madrid need a presence like him on the field. It doesn't matter if it's a central attacking midfielder or as a right winger. Guder simply needs to play football for Real Madrid, and when he does, he looks absolutely unplayable.
