Diego Simeone and Vinicius Junior were involved in a heated exchange during Real Madrid's 2-1 win over Athletico Madrid tonight. Los Blancos booked their place in the Supercopa de Espana final courtesy of a Federico Valverde free-kick and Rodrygo's second-half finish.
Vinicius wasn't on the scoresheet but played his part until the 81st minute when Xabi Alonso opted to bring him off. As he was leaving the pitch he was provoked by Simeone, leading to a bust-up between the Brazilian and the Argentine coach.
The 25-year-old was yellow carded for his role in the drama but it was Simeone who ignited a spat. It seems the fiery Atleti boss warned Vinicius about his future at the Bernabeu.
Simeone tells Vinicius he will be sold
Simeone is constantly playing mind games and he looked to infuriate the opposition by getting under the skin of Vinicius. There are claims that he said to the Brazilian (via Madrid Xtra):
“Vini, Vini… Florentino Pérez will kick you out [of Real Madrid], remember I told you!"

Vinicius' future has been uncertain amid a poor ongoing season in which he's gone 18 games without scoring. He was booed by Madrid fans during wins over Sevilla and Real Betis before tonight's game.
He has been at the Bernabeu since 2018 and become a talisman in that time, scoring the winner in the 2022 Champions League final. But his difficult spell has raised question marks about whether Alonso can rely on him.
Vinicius suggested his future is at Madrid
While Simeone has teased Vinicius about a potential Madrid departure he is seemingly eager to continue his career in the Spanish capital. He sent out a post in response to making his 150th appearance that hinted he wants to achieve more with the club.
Fabrizio Romano shut down rumors of Chelsea preparing an astronomical offer for the winger who will have a year left on his contract in the summer. He just needs to re-find form and there's no better time than in Sunday's final.
Madrid meet Barca with Alonso getting the chance to guide his side to the first major trophy of his reign. He too has been under pressure amid a topsy-turvy debut campaign.
