Real Madrid are focusing on youth as they look to build a team that can dominate Europe for years to come. Endrick, 19, Franco Mastantuono, 18, Arda Guler, 20, and Gonzalo Garcia, 21, look destined to be future superstars at the Estadio Bernabeu.
This transfer strategy isn't always successful because there is the risk of snubbing experienced players who can help the team now rather than in the future. But it remains Florentino Perez and the board's vision ahead of this summer transfer window.
The latest youngster to catch Madrid's eye is Bournemouth striker Junior Kroupi who might be one of Europe's most highly-coveted teenagers. The French frontman has also garnered interest from Liverpool amid a sensational season in the Premier League.
Real Madrid in race with Liverpool for Kroupi
Kroupi has been one of the most in-form attacking talents in England this season. He has bagged eight goals in 21 games, and his consistent performances haven't gone unnoticed.
According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool lead the race for Kroupi although Madrid are in competition to sign the 19-year-old. Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have also been monitoring thr French starlet who joined Bournemouth from FC Lorient.
Kroupi's contract runs until 2030 and other reports claim that his club believe he could become their first-ever £80m (€90m) sale. That fee is a hefty one for such a young player but he is expected to grow into a top star.
Madrid's interest is long-term, given they were linked with Kroupi during his time at Lorient. He was earning comparisons to Kylian Mbappe back in 2023 when the club first caught site of his enormous potential.
Real Madrid must be cautious over Kroupi move
There's no doubt Kroupi has shown he can become one of Europe's top strikers in the future. He is showing maturity beyond his years in the Premier League which is a promising sign.
That said, Madrid have two strikers already eyeing the number nine starting berth for years to come. Endrick and Garcia are tipped to take over from Mbappe when the 27-year-old's spell at the Bernabeu eventually ends.
Swooping for Kroupi would potentially jeoparise their development and could lead to one or both of them eyeing departures. The club might have to decide whether to place their trust in the pair or continue building a team with the addition of another wonderkid.
Endrick has been sensational on loan at Lyon and he is expected to be handed more opportunities next season. Garcia has shown patience this season but he will surely be wanting promised regular game time sooner rather than later.
