Carlo Ancelotti had a lot to be unhappy about coming out of El Clasico. Firstly, his Real Madrid side lost 4-0 at Santiago Bernabeu at the hands of FC Barcelona. That is never an acceptable result for Los Blancos and one could argue that the margin could have been greater. Robert Lewandowski scored a brace and could have easily gotten himself a couple more, missing two sitters.
As for Real Madrid, they had their chances as well. Kylian Mbappe found the back of Barcelona's net on two occasions but was ruled offside both times. In total, he had the flag raised against him eight times.
There is no question that Real Madrid were outclassed on the pitch. But an incident that took place on the sidelines might not have been classy on the part of Barcelona.
The incident took place after Barcelona's fourth goal, which came through Raphinha. The celebrations spilled in front of the Real Madrid bench. Ancelotti was then viewed having a talk with Hansi Flick in the aftermath. The Italian rarely loses his cool, so that was a rare sight.
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti slams Barcelona after El Clasico
Ancelotti explained after the game that he had an issue with one of Flick's assistants. As reported by ABC News, the Real Madrid head coach said about the incident:
"[The problem] was with the assistant, not with Flick.
"The assistant was not a gentleman with the way he celebrated in front of bench. And Flick agreed with us."
Of course, that will be the last of Real Madrid fans' worries after this result. They must be worried with how the team has performed so far this season.
At no point have they seemed to find any rhythm. Yes, there have been great individual performances here and there, like Vinicius Jr's hattrick in midweek against Borussia Dortmund to come back from a two-goal deficit. But overall, Real Madrid are not playing well as a team, which was there strength last season and helped them win a Champions League and La Liga double.
