Real Madrid's current transfer strategy has been to target world football's most promising youth talent and developing them into world beaters. The likes of Endrick, 19, Franco Mastantuono, 18, and Arda Guler, 20, have arrived in past transfer windows.

In the El Clasico rivalry its always been Madrid who usually buy the best players in the world in Galactico style. Barcelona are more known to be the club who develop youngsters from their La Masia academy.

But that's not to say that Los Blancos don't have some exciting youngsters in La Fabrica. Gonzalo Garcia, 21, is the perfect example of an academy product who has stepped up and become a major asset at senior level.

Thiago Pitarch stealing the show at youth level

The latest Castilla name on every Madrid's fans lips should be Thiago Pitarch whose stock is growing at youth level. He's a player Alvaro Arbeloa knows well from his time coaching the youth side before he was appointed the senior team's caretaker manager.

Pitarch was in action for Madrid's U19s in the UEFA Youth League on Tuesday and was the best performer in a 5-2 win over Marseille. The midfield starlet was on the scoresheet and displayed his ball-playing abilities, managing a 90% pass accuracy and completing 52 passes.

The 18-year-old also performed well defensively winning all three of his tackles and six of seven ground duels. He is one of the most promising talents at youth level and given the senior side's struggles this season it shouldn't be too long until he's knocking on the first-team door.

Xabi Alonso was a fan of Pitarch

Xabi Alonso called him up several times in La Liga this season before he parted ways. The Spanish coach gave a glowing verdict of the teenage prospect back in August (via Tribuna):

"When he started training with us, I liked him practically from the first day. He’s very dynamic, has great energy, and knows how to play between the lines.”

Pitarch has yet to make his senior debut but Arbeloa has shown he is willing to turn to youth during his time in charge. He will be without Jude Bellingham for at least three weeks due to a hamstring injury and perhaps he will consider including the youngster in his squad.
