Real Madrid have suffered 21 injuries that have lasted two months or more in the last four seasons, according to Marca. It is simply shocking to see the number of players getting injured left, right, and centre at Real Madrid. If these were just small injuries, no one would pay any attention to it because it is very normal in football to have quite a few small injuries over a few years' time.

However, this is 21 medium- to long-term injuries that have occurred in just 4 seasons. That is an average of at least 5 every season at Real Madrid, which is simply shocking.

21 long-term injuries in four years is not normal for any club, let alone Real Madrid

A bunch of those injuries have come to the defenders who play for Real Madrid. Even Thibaut Courtois has had a couple of them, while Ferland Mendy, Eder Militao, and David Alaba are just some of the players who have been the unfortunate victims of such brutal statistics.

It is a really bad situation because, at a top club like Real Madrid, you probably would not expect something like this to happen so often. It is not like Real Madrid have only had this problem for a year. It's not just a one-off season or two.

This is a consistent track record over the last four years, which is frankly getting too much to bear for Real Madrid fans. Maybe some of that has to do with the new Bernabeu and how the grass is preserved at the club.

There have been many conspiracies and studies about retractable pitches like the one Real Madrid have, or the one Tottenham have. Both of these clubs have had many injuries over the last couple of seasons.

Although that doesn't give you enough data to confirm that that is the reason, it still puts a lot of doubt in the fans' minds because the way they are playing with their entire squad fully fit is not good enough to start with. If you add this many injuries to the squad, it just makes it even worse.

This season, Real Madrid have had one long injury already, and that came to Raul Asencio, who had surgery on his right leg and is going to be out for at least two to three months. Hopefully, Real Madrid have also noticed this pattern and have worked with their fitness team to make sure that these things do not happen this often for a club as big as they are. Whether that will end up happening remains to be seen.
