Jude Bellingham has endured the worst season of his Real Madrid career thus far for several reasons. Firstly the English midfielder hasn't been at his best and that's led to talk over his place in the team despite registering six goals and four assists in 28 games across competitions.

Secondly, Bellingham's attitude hasn't just been questioned by the English media but the Spanish press are now seriously calling out the 22-year-old. There are outlandish rumors that some of his teammates are growing frustrated with his behavior.

Finally, the former Borussia Dortmund man is on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury in a 2-1 win over Rayo Vallecano earlier this month. He sat out a 2-0 win against Valencia on the weekend and will miss the Champions League playoff encounter with Benfica.

Jude Bellingham injury news is a concern

Bellingham was initially expected to miss a month due to the hamstring problem that came at a difficult period. He was already feeling the wrath of fans following Xabi Alonso's departure in early January and a starting berth in England's team for the 2026 World Cup isn't guaranteed.

According to Ramon Alvarez de Mon, Bellingham could now miss two months rather than one, in a massive blow for the player and Los Blancos. That means he won't play either leg of the playoff against Benfica and most likely the Madrid derby against Atletico Madrid on March 22nd.

Bellingham will be eager to get back to action as soon as possible with his side looking to end the season on a high. They are still in contention to win the La Liga title as they sit a point behind Barcelona with 15 games left.

The Englishman could return in April if he does indeed require two months of recovery. That will come just in time for El Clasico which takes place on May 10th and could be a title decider given how tighly poised the title race currently is.

Jude Bellingham must prove a point

When Bellingham does eventually make his return he needs to silence his critics and refind the sensational form he's enjoyed throughout most of his Madrid spell. That doesn't mean putting up prolific goalscoring numbers as he did during his debut season.

But the English midfielder had been a dominant prescence in the middle of the park in past seasons. There were no real concerns over his ability because he was so consistent and delivered in big moments including in El Clasico battles.
