Real Madrid's defense roster has not had the best success with injuries. Different players have been sufferers of injury difficulties on an ongoing basis for indeterminate times.
An ACL injury came about in October to steal the remaining season's playtime from Dani Carvajal, and the next month Eder Militao fell down the same pit. Neither of the two players is projected to recover before August 2025. The same has created several tactical quandaries at Real Madrid, where finding the ideal defensive combination was the main question mark prior to the constant performance of the newfound incredible talent Raul Asencio.
Aurelien Tchouameni's return to form, Antonio Rudiger's governing presence from the back, and Asencio's aggressive and daring work have given the defense back some much-needed stability.
Real Madrid's Injury prone star is set to depart
On Wednesday, Real Madrid confirmed that defender Jesus Vallejo incurred an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg. The club confirmed that his situtation is being monitored but it is assumed that the player is expected to be out for several weeks.
On the same day, Fabrizio Romano reported that all stands over and done between the club and Vallejo and all things considered, the player is set to take a leave.
This follows the player's string of poor performances for Real Madrid, as well as his struggle to establish himself in the starting lineup on occasion. With only one appearance and 10 minutes of playing time for Real Madrid this season, his exit was long expected. The injury, meanwhile, merely reaffirms the two parties' long-standing agreement that they are better away from one other.
Miguel Angel Diaz of COPE reported in January that Real Madrid wanted Vallejo to go during the winter transfer window, but the player was always determined to finish his contract and leave no sooner than the end of the season, as he reiterated.
As a last thought, it has been increasingly evident over the seasons that Jesus Vallejo has no place on Real Madrid's defensive squad, and the 28-year-old is better positioned to get minutes elsewhere than in Madrid.
According to Relevo, the player drew attention from the Turkish League, where numerous teams were searching for a seasoned center-back. The athlete, however, declined the opportunity to test the league. His attitude remains firm: he will finish out the season at Real Madrid before looking for a new club.
