Real Madrid center midfielder Eduardo Camavinga may not be an undisputed starter for the team, and, in that sense, some fans may be disappointed that the Frenchman labeled a generational prospect for Rennes and wanted by Real for years before joining in 2021 has yet to truly break through as a superstar.

At the same time, the versatile left footer has proven crucial in two distinct Champions League campaigns, even popping up as a quality left back when Real Madrid desperately needed his energy and contributions there.

Camavinga has been a great team player, and even though his skill set has never quite matured, nor has he proven capable of being a No. 6 in the system, the Frenchman is one of the better midfielders in European football and a beloved breath of fresh air in this team.

Eduardo Camavinga could be sold

The problem is that transfer rumors keep swirling around the young midfielder. In the latest news hit, the Diario AS trio of Fernando S. Tavero, Marco Ruiz, and Roddy Cons combine to report that Eduardo Camavinga's future at Real Madrid remains in doubt. They state that while a final decision from the club on Cama has not been made yet, there is a possibility he could be sold in the summer 2026 transfer window with Premier League suitors and even European rivals PSG keen on him. The word "complicated" was used to describe the situation facing Camavinga at Madrid in 2026.

Back when Camavinga was first breaking out in 2026 at the age of 16, he was running cirlces around PSG, prompting the biggest club in Ligue 1 to have serious interest in him. But Camavinga always wanted Real Madrid, and it must have enraged Nasser Al-Khelaifi and PSG that he played such a critical role in them winning the Champions League title in the 2021/22 season, whichi included a ridiculous comeback win over Paris in the Round of 16.

Selling Camavinga seems crazy, and what is even crazier is that he is still only 23 and scratching the surface. Although he is not a main starter for Real and may be falling behind the pecking order further with Thiago Pitarch becoming a first team regular, he has been solid when called upon this season and, again, offers something unique to the others as an athlete and ball winner.

Real Madrid are never going to get fair value for Camavinga on the transfer market. PSG won't give Real any friendly deals - the opposite, in fact - and it remains to be seen which clubs are actually interested from the Premier League. What's certain, however, is that Madridistas do not want to see this guy go. He's still important.
