A few days ago, Real Madrid revealed that Kylian Mbappe had suffered a new injury. This time, not to his left knee but to his left hamstring, an overload issue. And it also appears Mbappe may not play for the rest of the season with the World Cup for France on the horizon, which is a situation that does not please Madridistas at all.
With PSG continuing to run the table in the Champions League with beautiful football while Real Madrid cannot even convincingly play against the likes of Girona and Mallorca with La Liga all but won by Barcelona, the frustration with Mbappe, who has turned Real Madrid trophyless and PSG into the best club in the world, is reaching a boiling point.
Next weekend, Real Madrid have one last chance to save face against eternal rivals Barcelona in El Clasico. And according to French newspaper Le Parisien, via the Madrid Zone, Kylian Mbappe is a major doubt for the big game. He is reportedly very unlikely to play and has apparently turned his full focus towards the World Cup.
Kylian Mbappe is not in the good graces of Real Madrid fans
While the World Cup is a big deal, so is El Clasico, especially with Real Madrid continually getting embarrassed by Barcelona ever since Mbappe's arrival. And the fact that he will not be out there while fans are seeing pictures of him in Italy vacationing will infuriate them more.
Although Mbappe was protected by all the criticism going to Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham from within, especially with all the dubious media reports blaming them for Xabi Alonso's firing, Real Madrid fans are beginning to see past all that. After all, they won the Champions League and La Liga with Jude and Vinicius - and twice with Vini.
Mbappe is the one who has to prove his Madridismo, and whereas legends like Casemiro and Cristiano Ronaldo would never be caught dead on vacation or celebrating when Real Madrid were in crisis, Madridistas are seeing what Mbappe is doing and feeling hurt and betrayed by a player they have backed besides everyone else around the world laughing at PSG shining while they fade with him.
The honeymoon period is over, and after Real Madrid beat Manchester City without him but then lost to Bayern Munich, Madridistas will be watching El Clasico to see the response. Because if Real Madrid are better and Mbappe indeed does not play, then the pitchforks will be fully sharpened by then.
