A perfect gentleman with a kindness and the desire to excel, Guler is an absolute gem of a footballer with technical wizardry and chance creation beyond those of his peers, filling out a key role in midfield after the departures of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric as the main creative hub - and someone who gets along with all the superstars, whether it is Kylian Mbappe or Jude Bellingham.
Guler had four goals and nine assists in his best season to date, building on each season successively until he has become a true pillar of the club in the middle of the park. And Real Madrid fans cannot wait to see what more magic the 21 year old Turkish phenom can conjure up.
Florentino Perez is totally right
Included among those fans is Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. Speaking in an interview with TRT Spor in his home country of Turkey, Arda Guler said, via Madrid Xtra, “Florentino Pérez once told me that I’m one of the best players in the team. It made me really happy. I love him a lot.”
Guler is indeed one of the best players in the team, and so not only is Perez being a great grandfatherly figure and showing that love to Guler, but he is also 100 percent right in saying that he is one of their best.
In fact, the only Real Madrid players you can definitely say are better right now are Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham, and Thibaut Courtois. Arda Guler is right there with Fede Valverde to round out the top five, and honestly, when you look at the entire 2025/26 season and all the drama that happened, Guler was probably Real's player of the season for his effort, attitude, and ability to create and score from nothing with 2.1 key passes per game.
Unselfish superstars who make everyone else better are the lifeblood of Real Madrid, and their best teams were built on midfielders like these. Florentino Perez and Co. will hope that the young Real Madrid midfielder continues his upward trajectory and becomes one of the best players on the entire planet, not just one of the best players at the Santiago Bernabeu.
