At Real Madrid, one of the most talked about topics this summer has been which new midfielder will the club sign to revamp and reshape their midfield off the back of back-to-back trophyless seasons. The club has been linked with pretty much every midfielder you can imagine and after months of thinking, the club has finally made their decision, and unfortunately, it is a decision that may leave some fans disappointed.

As being reported by theMadridZone on X, despite all the transfer speculation this summer, Real Madrid now believe in the current group of midfield players and won't be bringing in any new midfielders this summer. The club assessed the options in the market but ultimately concluded all options were way too expensive and have now decided to stick with the current group of players they have.

After all the talk, it's same old, same old at Real Madrid

So after all the talk and all the rumors and speculation, Real Madrid is going to head into the 26/27 season with the same group of midfield players from last season. Jude Bellingham, Fede Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Arda Guler, who all struggled last season now have the full backing of the club to be trusted to step up under new manager Jose Mourinho, a decision that while it may upset fans, makes sense in the end.

When looking at the midfield transfer market this season, there really isn't a midfielder that would bring exactly what the club has been needing. The club needs a Toni Kroos replacement and frankly there's no midfielder on the market of his quality that would justify paying the ridiculous fee they would carry. We all saw Elliot Anderson's outrageous €135 million move to Manchester City which could prove to be the benchmark price for midfielders this summer.

Real Madrid have had strong links to Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez this summer, and while being a great player, the fee it would cost to get him out of Chelsea wouldn't be warranted for what he's achieved in his time in London, so sticking with the same group of midfielders would save the club hundreds of millions of euros that they could spend elsewhere like on a striker or another central defender.

While the midfield group did struggle last season this upcoming season is a completely different story. Tchouameni and Bellingham have been showing their class at the World Cup and with Jose Mourinho now at the helm, the group will be rejuvenated and more motivated than ever to perform and show that they can be the rightful heirs' to the the Kroos-Casemiro-Modric midfield trio.
