Real Madrid have already brought in two world class players this summer transfer window in Denzel Dumfries and Trent Alexander-Arnold, and there are at least a handful of other midfielders and defenders being actively linked like Alessandro Bastoni, Riccardo Calafiori, Josko Gvardiol, Rodri, and Enzo Fernandez.
But Florentino Perez isn't just after midfielders to solidify the team's control over games or defenders to help Jose Mourinho install what he needs to win. Papa Perez, having confirmed his status as the president going forward, publicly stated that he is ready to bid 150 million euros on a Galactic forward.
While his No. 1 target and obsession is Michael Olise, Bayern Munich have made it very clear on multiple occasions that they will not sell the French superstar for less than 200 million euros - let alone sell the player at all. And with Bayern continually relaying those signals despite initial optimism from transfer insiders that they may just be all bark, Florentino and Madrid have moved to an alternative, rival striker Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid - once a key Juni Calafat target in 2022 at River Plate until his big move to Manchester City with Erling Haaland.
Julian Alvarez is willing to move to Real Madrid
According to new reporting from Sky Sports Germany, despite playing for the crosstown rivals, Julian Alvarez, like Spanish international and former Manchester City teammate Rodri, is not averse to betraying the Rojiblancos by moving to the Santiago Bernabeu. The Argentinian World Cup winner is reportedly open to a Real Madrid transfer, and Sky Sports Germany report that Real have indeed already made official contacts regarding a potential transfer.
Sky Germany are just the latest outlet to report that Alvarez is a very real alternative to Olise, and Real Madrid will be happy to know that the rivalry will not be a barrier to the striker joining them. Now, Alvarez has already been very interested in a move to another huge rival of Madrid's in Spain, Barcelona, as the Blaugrana have been in hot pursuit of the player for a year now as their replacement for Ferran Torres and Robert Lewandowski at the No. 9.
But as big as Barcelona are, no deal has come close to happening yet, while Real Madrid, for many in Spanish football, are even more massive. That Real Madrid train only comes knocking once, and if Olise can't come this year, Alvarez may only have one chance in his career to play at the Bernabeu. It sounds like he wants to take it.
