Real Madrid will need to be more buyers than sellers in the summer transfer window, but they also appear to be interested in culling the squad a little bit, both to accommodate new faces and, apparently, to decrease the competition in the squad.

One of the moves Madridistas are worried about president Florentino Perez sanctioning is the sale of young striker Gonzalo Garcia, whose intelligence and finishing allow him to outperform his athletic and raw talent abilities. Garcia has been a positive in the Real Madrid lineup under both Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa on the rare occasions he gets a chance, but it looks like Real are intent on selling him, even permanently, and view him as incompatible with Endrick coming back from Lyon next season.

Borussia Dortmund are the team most frequently linked with Garcia, and they have done plenty of business with Real Madrid in the past, including loan acquisitions for Achraf Hakimi and Reinier Jesus in recent years. Quietly, Real Madrid are hoping to sign their star center back Nico Schlotterbeck, joining him with former Dortmund star midfielder Jude Bellingham at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Gonzalo Garcia is on the transfer list

Although Real Madrid are hoping that they can get 60 million euros for Gonzalo Garcia this summer transfer window, Diario AS reports, via the Madrid Zone, that the opening offer Dortmund have ready for their friends down south is just for a meager 30 million euros.

Dortmund don't have boatloads of cash, and they are tying up a lot of money in striker Serhou Guirassy, who is basically their version of Kylian Mbappe (talented but focused on his own goals and very lazy defensively). So spending 60 million euros on Garcia isn't realistic.

And while 30 million euros isn't a bad offer, Real Madrid fans don't want to see Garcia go for that little. He has been scoring and even assisting at a high rate when playing this season, and with more and more Real Madrid fans turning on Kylian Mbappe and his bad attitude, Garcia is becoming even more valued - and some even go as far to say that the team looks better with him as a true 9 in the lineup than with Mbappe robbing Vinicius Junior's (and everyone else's) shine.

The Garcia transfer saga will only get more interesting with higher figures thrown around as other clubs get involved in the Spanish gem's battle. Serie A giants Juventus are also rumored to be interested in the Real Madrid forward prospect.
