Real Madrid are set to sell midfielder Manuel Ángel to Almeria for six million pounds, according to reports from Spain.

It is a deal that is due to be announced, is due to be made official at any time now because it has been agreed by all parties involved.

Ángel will join his former Real Madrid counterpart, Sergio Arribas, at Almeria, and Real Madrid will retain 50% of the Spanish midfielder's rights for any future sale.

Like with any other player, Real Madrid will have control over the academy graduate's future, and if he develops the way people think he can develop, Real Madrid will have the option to bring him back for a much cheaper price than whatever Almeria would want from other clubs.

Manuel Angel is supremely talented

To be honest, six million euros is lower than expected for a player of Ángel's quality.

It is obvious that he's only played for Castilla, and he doesn't have a lot of experience of playing for the first team. But, Real Madrid still could have tried to negotiate a higher price for him.

He is one of the most talented midfielders that have come out of Real Madrid's academy in quite some time, and it is actually a shame that he never really got to present his talents on a consistent basis for the first team.

Angel wasn't fit when the opportunity under Xabi Alonso was available, and eventually, under Alvaro Arbeloa, that opportunity was given to Thiago Pitarch, who had trained with the first team for a while before then.

He's also younger, which definitely helped his case because then Real Madrid have a reason to have him around the first team. However, Ángel was probably more ready for that jump than Pitarch was.

Despite scoring an own goal in one of his appearances, Ángel looked really confident and really positive with the ball.

He loved linking up with some of his teammates, and some of the sequences that Real Madrid had when he was playing were really impressive to watch.

With Thiago Pitarch, it always seemed like he was trying to play it a bit safe, even though he has also had some brilliant moments for the first team.

But it is also true that it is a slightly different profile. Ángel is more of a positive-action player who loves to bring the ball forward as much as possible, whereas Petarch wants to slow things down.

Even then, it is a good argument to have that Ángel probably deserved more shots than he actually got for the first team.

It was also looking likely that he would move to a top-level team rather than a team in the Segunda Division, which is also surprising.

However, hopefully he can slowly pick himself up and become important for Almeria, and then a big move comes in for the youngster.

Angel has got every bit of potential that he needs to be a top-level player in Spain, and hopefully he is able to reach that as soon as possible.
