Manchester United were one of the clubs that were interested in signing Endrick on loan this summer, according to a report from RMC Sport.
The entire saga around Endrick has been evolving for a couple of weeks, and a decision was made by Real Madrid and the coaching staff that Endrick will continue at the club, at least until January, and then this topic will be revisited.
Endrick wants to fight for his place at the club, per The Athletic, and Jose Mourinho is quite fond of the Brazilian striker, which is why the club showed no interest in loaning him to another club - despite signing another striker.
Manchester United have plenty of attackers, but Endrick would have had a big chance of getting an important role there if he had decided to leave, but a move never ended up materialising.
Real Madrid turned down interest from Manchester United, Aston Villa and Roma for Endrick
It has been well documented that Manchester United were not the only club interested in signing him – Roma and Aston Villa had also shown serious interest.Â
It is also worth noting that this is now the second time this summer transfer window that Manchester United have reached out to Real Madrid with the hopes of signing a player. Aurelien Tchouameni’s future at the club was a pretty big talking point in the early stages of the transfer window, but Los Blancos never really opened the doors for a sale.
Manchester United looked at Tchouameni as the ideal replacement for the departing Casemiro – which is something that Real Madrid also did in 2022, when they originally signed him – and showed keen interest in bringing him to Old Trafford.
Soon after, Real Madrid extended Tchouameni’s contract, and not signing Rodri meant that Real Madrid are definitely holding onto Tchouameni for the foreseeable future.
Coming back to the topic at hand, it will be interesting to see what kind of role Real Madrid have in store for Endrick this season. The Brazilian forward has looked good in all of Los Blancos’ pre-season games so far, and is showing a real hunger to fight for his place.Â
His out-of-possession actions have significantly improved, with the Brazilian winning the ball in the attacking third plenty of times.Â
It remains to be seen whether the player is able to keep a big role at Real Madrid. If the situation is still bad in January, teams like Manchester United might come back for the player – and this time, the answer may not be no.
