Real Madrid are set to face Celta Vigo on Sunday, and it is an all-important match in their unlikely bid to retain the LaLiga title this season.

They are playing them at home at the back of many injury updates over the last eight days, since the loss to Barcelona.

A lot has happened in those last eight days, with Antonio Rudiger, Ferland Mendy, and David Alaba all getting injured for the long term.

Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham got injured, but it is nothing serious

However there was some good news as Jude Bellingham, who was, according to Relevo, feeling pain in his hamstring and trained inside the facilities on Friday, is not in any serious condition, and should be able to play against Celta.

Rudiger had his knee operated on after playing through months of excruciating pain, and is likely to be out for up to two months, and aims to recover for the Club World Cup in mid-June.

Alaba had a torn meniscus that had to be operated on as well, and he will, like Rudiger, aim to recover for the Club World Cup.

Mendy, on the other hand, will remain out for the rest of the season, including the inaugural Club World Cup, and hopes to be back for the start of the 2025-26 season, which can be under new management.

It is also worth noting that a number of players who are recovering from ACL injuries will return at some point during the summer. Real Madrid's academy star Joan Martinez, who was getting all the hype during the pre-season in August, has fully recovered and is about to start training with the under 19s.

Eder Militao is due to return to team training at some point, and his goal is to be available for the Club World Cup.

It is the same for Dani Carvajal. No one has heard any rumors about what is going on with these two players' fitness, except that they intend to return for the tournament, or, at the very least, be available for it.

Eduardo Camavinga is going to miss the Club World Cup as well, but is expected to return for the start of next season.

Things are bleak for Real Madrid right now, but once they have their entire team back in full fitness, they have no reason not to be a powerhouse again.
