Real Madrid have been struggling with injuries all this time, but there is finally some good news as Los Blancos have Rodrygo available after he was out in Real Madrid's 3-2 win over Celta Vigo.

Real Madrid face Barcelona on Sunday in a bid to make the title race far more interesting than it is currently, with a win taking them just one point behind the league leaders with three more matches to go.

Rodrygo may leave Real Madrid, and is definitely the player who should play less to accommodate Arda Guler, but he is still a great option to have on his day.

Why was Rodrygo not playing for Real Madrid?

Rodrygo had to be left out of the Celta Vigo squad last week due to illness, and Real Madrid did not really have many problems without him as they scored three goals to give themselves a comfortable margin.

Real Madrid have not had the best of luck with fitness this season, but they are quite lucky that it was only an illness and not a serious injury that would keep Rodrygo out of a potential title run-in. If Real Madrid are able to win this huge game, they can fully challenge for the title.

Rodrygo, whether he starts on the pitch or off the bench, would be vital in making that happen as he is still one of Real Madrid's best players.

Will Rodrygo play against Barcelona?

Carlo Ancelotti held a press conference with the media on Saturday, just over 24 hours before his team play Barcelona away from home.

In the presser, he was asked about Rodrygo's fitness and availability, and also whether he would start over Arda Guler against Real Madrid's arch-rivals.

To that question, Ancelotti said: "Rodrygo is back and training well. He’s available. We don’t have many options for the starting eleven, but those who are in the squad can start.

"Rodrygo is an option for the starting eleven, like Arda.”

It remains to be seen whether Ancelotti starts Rodrygo or Guler in his most important game of the season, but one thing is for sure - Rodrygo will do his best to have an impact on the match either way.
