All the way back in early April, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was already falling head over heels for record breaking Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, who tore Alvaro Carreras and the Madrid defense to shreds in the first leg. Olise would then score a brilliant goal on Ferland Mendy's head in the second match to confirm Bayern Munich's place in yet another Champions League semifinal.
Throughout his two seasons at Bayern, Olise has been transcendent, and Florentino is now obsessed with bringing the second best French player in the world (the first is Ousmane Dembele, by the way) to Real Madrid alongside Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe as what he sees as the missing piece of the attack.
The Real Madrid president responded to challeneger Enrique Riquelme's bold claims about already signing Erling Haaland by stating that he will bid at least 150 million euros and make a serious play for a new Galactico on the level of Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane. Many thought he was talking about PSG superstar midfielders Joao Neves and Vitinha after another Champions League crown, but all the transfer insiders say he is really talking about Michael Olise, even as he publicly denied that the former Crystal Palace man was his dream target.
Real Madrid are already talking to Michael Olise
Now, Real Madrid transfer insider Jorge C. Picon is reporting that the "truth" is that Florentino Perez has actually already made contacts to sign Olise and his representatives, but he cannot make that admission publicly, which is why he is denying the questions.
Olise is under contract at Bayern, and when the rumors first spread, Uli Hoeness and other key players at the historic German club, one of Real's great historic Champions League rivals, said that they would never sell Olise for any price - not even 200 million euros.
But in their history, Bayern have always shown that they do have a price for everyone. Insiders are skeptical that Bayern Munich would actually reject an Olise transfer offer from Real Madrid if 1) the player really pushed to go and 2) if Real Madrid actually submitted a 150-200 million euro offer across their table.
The fact that Real Madrid and Florentino are so serious about Olise that they are already talking to the superstar right winger is massive, and it shows another difference between Florentino and Enrique Riquelme. See, the latter talks about who he promises to bring, while Florentino actually works to bring them.
