Real Madrid will need to strengthen their full-back ranks sooner or later. With Dani Carvajal out injured for the foreseeable future, a lot of the focus has been on the right-back situation, especially with the links with Trent Alexander-Arnold. But the club might need to make an addition at left-back soon as well.
One of the players they have been most heavily linked with is Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich. But it looks like the Bayern Munich defender is not the only left-back on their radar.
As reported by Real Madrid Confidential, the club are following the development of Milos Kerkez. His performances have sparked interest from several clubs, including Manchester United.
Kerkez currently plays for Bournemouth in the Premier League and has impressed for the Cherries since joining the club last year. He has also represented the Hungary national team on 21 occasions so far.
Real Madrid interested in 21-year-old Manchester United target
Kerkez was once part of the youth ranks at AC Milan but left the Italian club before ever making a senior appearance for them. Instead, he ended up at Dutch side, AZ, which is where he made a name for himself before his move to Bournemouth.
Real Madrid's options at left-back are not the most convincing right now. Ferland Mendy's performance levels appear to have dipped while fitness has always been an issue surrounding him. On the other hand, Fran Garcia has never really impressed since making his return to the club from Rayo Vallecano last season.
Davies does seem to be Real Madrid's number one option when it comes to strengthening the left-back position. But they will be smart to have alternative options as well and it looks like Kerkez is someone who is drawing their interest, although not many would have seen the speculation coming.
