Real Madrid are planning a major squad overhaul this summer. A number of major changes are expected to take place, with older veteran players departing the club, and a number of young players expected to arrive to be cornerstone pieces of the next generation of Los Blancos. This next generation is expected to include a number of academy graduates, with Real Madrid now realizing they made a mistake selling them, and planning to bring them back to the club this summer.
As reported by 90min (via Transfer News Live), Real are considering activating the buy-back clauses for three youngsters and bringing them back to the club for cut-price fees this summer. Those three players are Nico Paz and Jacobo Ramon, both currently at Como, and Chema Andres, currently at Stuttgart.
Real Madrid readying to re-sign trio
Real is looking to reinforce both the midfield and defense this summer, and with Real's new transfer strategy of signing older veterans for free and paying a fee for youngsters, these three fit the philosophy perfectly. Los Blancos have relied on their academy more in recent seasons; now could be the time for Paz, Ramon, and Andres to make an impact at the Bernabeu.
Paz's return is all but confirmed, with the Argentine the most surefire of the three to be making his return to the club. The Argentine has been one of, if not the best, players in Serie A this season, with 10 goals and six assists and is the driving force behind Como's impressive challenge for European qualification. Many expect the 21-year-old to have a major role upon his return to the Bernabeu, after his impressive time in Italy.
As for Ramon, given the defensive departures that are expected and the overall fragility of the backline, his return would be a warm welcome to a struggling defense. The Spaniard made only six appearances for the senior team before being sold to Como, and, like Paz, he has been thriving in Serie A. He is developing into a strong young central defender, and given all the injuries to Dean Huijsen and Eder Militao, having someone like Ramon to call on could save Real when they need it most.
Finally, Andres, the 20-year-old, has surprised many this season at Stuttgart and is showing he has incredible talent and composure for such a young midfielder. Andres grabbed an assist in Stuttgart's recent 3-3 draw with Heidenheim, adding to a tally of two goals and two assists for the German side this season. Real's midfield has been one of the weak points over the last two seasons, so adding someone like Andres to the mix would help shake things up and add more variety for whoever the new manager is when the new season rolls around.
Paz has a buy-back clause of €9 million, Ramon €8 million, and Andres €10 million. Real plan on opening the chequebook this summer when it comes to signings, so spending a total of €27 million on three players who could help shape the next decade at the club should be a no-brainer for Los Blancos when the summer transfer window rolls around.
