The first name on the list of midfielders to exit Real Madrid this summer was always Dani Ceballos, and Real have already officially waved goodbye to the long time backup after a truly atrocious 2025/26 season. But the second name on the list was Eduardo Camavinga, and even though an Aurelien Tchouameni exit has become more popular in recent weeks, Cama's future was never seen as safe despite his desire to stay at the club no matter what.
Camavinga is a good guy, and his will to remain a Madridista has to be admired. But even his biggest supporters at Real Madrid have to admit he is looking less and less like the right player for them. Real have better No. 8's than Cama, and asking him to change his playing style to be a No. 6 for them is a recipe for disaster; it just is not who he is.
Once again, Diario AS are reporting, via the Madrid Zone, that all signs point to Camavinga leaving Real Madrid this summer with the club needing to make a big sale in order to fund more star targets for Jose Mourinho. And on that note, Real are asking for 60 million euros for the 23 year old Frenchman.
Real Madrid are valuing Camavinga at the level of Nico Paz
It is a fair fee, and it is an interesting price point for Real Madrid to set. Real are asking for the same amount for Eduardo Camavingat that they got out of Nico Paz, and even though the Argentinian had a much better 2025/26 season over in Serie A, Cama is a proven Real Madrid commodity and has won two Champions League titles.
There is also another interesting point to think about when it comes to the price tag. If you add up the money obtained from two 60 million euro transfers for Paz and Camavinga in 2026, then you get 120 million euros, which is almost exactly what Chelsea paid for to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica a couple of years ago.
So Real Madrid are clearly gunning for Enzo, who will probably cost a little bit more than that as a transfer from Chelsea to Real Madrid. But Fernandez is the main man Jose Mourinho wants, perhaps falling in love with the Argentinian international just a little bit more at the 2026 World Cup.
Camavinga may still try to fight to stay, but Real Madrid are pushing him out. They have set an asking price that is very realistic for the Premier League clubs to accept yet still expensive enough that Real can generate the kind of profit they need to make the dollars and cents line up for an Enzo Fernandez blockbuster.
