Real Madrid legend could return if Carlo Ancelotti is sacked
Questions are being asked about Carlo Ancelotti. That is going to be the case with every Real Madrid manager, if they lose El Clasico, not just at Santiago Bernabeu but by a 4-0 margin. A brace from Robert Lewandowski and a goal each from Lamine Yamal and Raphinha were enough to hand Los Blancos a one-sided defeat in their own backyard.
Of course, Ancelotti has been in this situation before. And back then, he answered with the only thing that matters more than anything else at Real Madrid: trophies.
Hopefully, he will be able to repeat that. But if things don't improve for Real Madrid, the club might start looking for a new manager.
Of course, the links with Xabi Alonso have existed for a while. But it looks like there is another club legend that Real Madrid have their eyes on, in case Ancelotti fails to turn things around.
Real Madrid legend could return if Carlo Ancelotti is sacked
As reported by Fichajes, Florentino Perez has a clear objective. It is to bring Zinedine Zidane back to the Real Madrid dugout if Ancelotti fails to get the team back on track.
It remains to be seen how accurate this report is. But one can understand why Real Madrid might be interested in Zidane returning for a third term as manager.
Zidane has already had two very successful stints as Real Madrid manager, the first of which produced a historic Champions League three-peat. It is remarkable that he has been without a club since leaving Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2021.
It always looked like he was interested in the France national team job but they ended up handing an extension to Didier Deschamps. On the other hand, Zidane has clearly been very selective about club offers because there surely could not have been any lack of interest.
