While it seems the only thing coming Real Madrid's way is bad news regarding injuries, the club has finally been given good news regarding one of their injured superstars. As being reported by Guillermo Rai of The Athletic on X, Rodrygo is close to making his return from injury, with club sources confident he'll be ready for the match against Getafe next week.

The Brazilian went down with a hamstring injury on February 6th and was initially expected to keep him out for only 10 days, missing just one match, however his recovery has taken much longer than expected and after some uncertainty, his timeline for return is now known, much to the pleasure of Real Madrid.

Real Madrid handed another major boost to injured superstar

So far this season has been an interesting one for Rodrygo. He started out the season as a bench player under Xabi Alonso, getting just a few minutes every game, which drastically affected his form, resulting in the Brazilian going through the longest goalless drought in Real Madrid history, a record he will surely hope to forget.

However, fortune started to turn in the Brazilian's favor towards the end of 2025, with him grabbing five goal contributions across five games, but then the injuries started coming. Rodrygo first delt with an injury in the lead up to the Spanish Super Cup in January but made his return before getting injured again shortly after, bringing a dead stop to all the momentum Rodrygo had been building up.

Injuries have limited the Brazilian to just two appearances under Arbeloa, leaving many to question how he will fit in to the managers system once he returns. However given the injury to Jude Bellingham, and the drop in form of Franco Mastantuono, Rodrygo could be vital to the squad upon his return.

Rodrygo is the one attacker who will track back and do the defensive work that Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe won't do, which will help bring additional support to the midfield trio of Camavinga-Tchouameni-Valverde. While he may not be getting on the stat sheet every game, Rodrygo is a vital piece to Real Madrid's squad and has shown that he may well be the most underrated player in the team, so his return will no doubt be welcomed with open arms as Los Blancos head into the crucial part of the season.
